For the first time ever, Heaton Park will host its very own Christmas Markets. It comes as the park in north Manchester announces its festive programme of events.
Christmas Market stalls will fill the Stables Courtyard every weekend during the daytime from 3 December until Christmas. Families can also visit Santa's enchanting grotto and catch a festive film at Heaton Park this winter.
Councillor Lee Ann Igbon, Executive Member for Vibrant Neighbourhoods said: "Manchester is the capital of Christmas and the whole city always gets involved in the festive season. Festive cheer has taken over Heaton Park this year- with film screenings, craft sessions, festive tipples and of course, markets.

Families are also invited to enjoy free screenings of festive film favourites under the Hayloft in the Stables Courtyard. Films will be shown between 11am and 3pm every weekend, and will be shown on loop and changed intermittently.
And it wouldn't be a festive family affair without a Santa's Grotto, and Heaton Park's the big man will arrive in the Heaton Park Garden Centre on December 3 and will depart for some very important Christmas duties on December 23.
As well as getting a gift from Santa himself, visitors will be invited to join in the Santa experience by planting a Christmas tree and listening to Santa read them a story. Tickets for the special festive event can be booked online
To top it all off, Heaton Park’s Café will be serving seasonal-themed food and drink for park go-ers. Complete with a new covered outside area, there’s a variety of foodie treats and warm drinks to keep everyone in the festive spirit this Christmas.
