Heated Rivalry author delays next book in hit series for health reasons

  • Rachel Reid, author of the Game Changers series, which was adapted into the hit TV series Heated Rivalry, has postponed the release of her upcoming novel, Unrivalled, due to worsening symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
  • The book, originally scheduled for September 2026, will now be published on 1 June 2027, allowing her additional time for writing.
  • Reid, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2023, explained that her physical ability to write has been affected, making the process slower.
  • She reassured fans that the extended timeline will ensure Unrivalled is the best possible book for both readers and characters.
  • Following a CNN interview about her diagnosis, a leading Parkinson's expert reached out to her, helping her access a neurologist after a five-year waiting list.
