PANAJI: There was a rise in maximum temperature by one degree and an increase in humidity levels over Goa on Thursday compared to the previous 24 hours. The India meteorological department (IMD) has attributed the reason to weather systems prevailing off Goa’s coast, even as the country has been reeling under extreme heat wave conditions in the north and north-west.
“With thundershower activities increasing and one such activity forming on Thursday, the weather felt warmer. The intensity of the trough is fluctuating constantly, and it was moving closer to Goa on Thursday owing to which thunderstorm activity is expected over the state,” said IMD scientist, Rahul M.
