The Celtics and Heat will face each other in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday night to see which team will compete in the 2023 NBA Finals against the Nuggets.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals will take place Thursday night in Denver, and the Heat apparently intend to be playing. The team already has scheduled to fly to Denver on Monday night instead of back to Miami, per Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater, who cited FAA records for the information.
If Miami loses at Boston on Monday night, it will mark the first time in NBA history a team has won a playoff series after trailing 3-0.
Scott Foster, Tony Brothers and John Goble have been tapped to officiate Monday’s Game 7. Home teams won 70.7% of the games in which Foster officiated during the 202-23 regular season.
Boston also boasts the support of former Red Sox stars Johnny Damon and David Ortiz, whose 2004 Boston team is the only squad in MLB history to overcome a 3-0 playoff deficit to win the series.
