Heart-warming reason why little girl wanted to clap for the Queen

A five-year-old girl went a step further to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, dressing as the monarch to 'clap for the Queen.'

Ava Ditchfield joined thousands of other families on the Thursday night clap for the NHS during 2020, as the entire country thanked health workers for their brave work during the pandemic. Ava, then three, and her dad Alan had a good reason to join in, as mum Alex nearly died of coronavirus in March 2020.

Alex spent five days in Aintree Hospital where staff worked to save her life. Now aged five, Ava used the Platinum Jubilee to show her thanks and recognition to both the NHS and the Queen one final time.
