Jacob Davenport is set to arrive at Hearts on Tuesday as Robbie Neilson plays the waiting game over South Korean forward Lee Seung-woo has been successful. Former Blackburn star Davenport will hold talks with the club and could even begin training at their Riccarton base this week. Gorgie boss Neilson is keen to add another midfielder and the 23-year-old looks likely to be that man.
Davenport, who came through the ranks at Premier League champions Manchester City, is a free agent after leaving Ewood Park in the summer and also several English lower-league options on the table. Aberdeen had also inquired about him before they decided to pursue other targets.
Hearts have also made an offer to Suwon to sign former Barcelona kid Seung-woo and offered the player a three-year deal. It remains to be seen if Suwon agree to sell their star player mid-season, having scored 10 goals in 22 appearances so far.
Seung-woo was tipped for big things at Barcelona B, where he was nicknamed the Korean Messi, but he failed to live up to all the early hype. He was then sold to Italians Hellas Verona for just over one £1million before moving to Belgians Sint Truiden, where he had a loan spell at Portimonense of Portugal under ex- Hearts boss Paulo Sergio.
