Hearts 'set to cut ties' with Loic Damour with permanent Tynecastle exit on cards

Hearts are set to cut ties with Loic Damour.

The capital club brought the midfielder to Tynecastle from Cardiff City in 2019.

But he has only managed 21 top team appearances over those three years.

Damour departed Hearts last summer for a loan move to Le Mans and with that now at an end the Edinburgh Evening News report he is in talks with a number of lower league clubs in France.

The 31-year-old - who was handed a four-year deal - still has one year to run on his current agreement meaning he is set to be released on a free.

FC Versailles are one of the clubs credited with an interest in the Hearts man.

Damour is reportedly is one of the highest earners at the club but has not made a competitive appearance in Scotland since March 2020.

His exit would free up funds for Robbie Neilson to continue his summer transfer activity.

The Hearts boss has already snapped up Alan Forrest, Kye Rowles and Lewis Neilson while he has expressed his desire to beef up his atttacking options.

The Jambos are set for a European adventure with guaranteed group stage football heading to Tynecastle.

Should they be eliminated in the Europa League play-off round they have the guaranteed parachute into the Europa Conference League proper.
