Hearts prepare for Rangers Scottish Cup triumph as Gorgie club confirm open top bus parade plans

Hearts have revealed their plans for a huge post Scottish Cup final party should they defeat Rangers at Hampden on Saturday.

The Gorgie club are seeking redemption after losing the previous Premiership clash with Gio van Bronckhorst's men last weekend and haven't witnessed Scottish Cup glory in a decade.

They will sense the opportunity to change history after Rangers were in Europa League Final action just three days before the clash at the national stadium.

Hearts say celebrations will take place on Sunday afternoon with a trophy parade expected inside Tynecastle should it all go to plan.

And they insist the preparations need to start now but there is no plans for a public event on the Saturday after the game should Robbie Neilson 's men lift the trophy despite the team having a private event planned in the stadium.

A statement from Hearts read: "Excitement continues to build towards Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final between Hearts and Rangers at Hampden. As per previous Cup Finals, the club is required to put plans in place in the event of a Hearts victory.

"Should the Jambos defeat Rangers at Hampden, the team will return to Tynecastle Park from Hampden on Saturday evening for a private reception. Please note there will be no public event at Tynecastle on Saturday and the team will not re-emerge once they have entered the stadium.

"As per previous Scottish Cup victories, the Sunday would start with the team, backroom staff and club officials attending a ceremony at the City of Edinburgh Council Chambers at 2 pm. They will then board an open-top bus at 3 pm for a trophy parade back to Tynecastle.

"Upon arrival at Tynecastle, the team and staff will parade the trophy on the pitch with the stadium open to Season Ticket holders, Main Stand season ticket holders should enter as normal via the foundation Plaza, season ticket holders for the Gorgie and Wheatfield stands should ALL enter via the Wheatfield turnstiles for this event.

"A limited number of paper tickets will also be available for entry via the Wheatfield turnstiles to non-season ticket holders (entry is free of charge). These tickets will be issued on approach to the turnstiles and supporters in possession of a ticket will be directed to a separate entry channel rather than through the turnstiles.

"PLEASE NOTE: The Tynecastle turnstiles will open at 1.30pm and close at 3pm to coincide with the open-top bus parade departing the City Chambers. Supporters must therefore choose between attending the street parade or taking their seat at Tynecastle. Under no circumstances will supporters be granted entry into the stadium after 3pm."
