Hearts pre-season friendly schedule expands with two games in one night awaiting Jambos

A pair of Hearts squads will take on non-league duo Spartans and Vale of Leithen on the same night next month as preparations begin for their 2022/23 season.

Manager Robbie Neilson will jet his players out to Malaga for a pre-season training camp on June 24 before returning to Edinburgh from Spain the following weekend.

Upon their return, they’ll then send a pair of Hearts XIs to play friendlies against two different non-League clubs on July 6th.

Lowland League Spartans will host their Edinburgh neighbours at 7.45pm at Ainslie Park while another Hearts side will be at Innerleithen to face Vale of Leithen, who were recently relegated to East of Scotland League level from the fifth tier.

The latter are charging £5 a ticket for adults, £3 for concessions and children under 16 go for free.

It's set to be a busy Premiership campaign for Neilson's team as they look to build on finishing third and reaching May's Scottish Cup final.

Their achievements gained them a Europa League play-off final spot that even if they are unsuccessful in, will still grant a Europa Conference League group stage spot until Christmas.
