Hearts hero Craig Gordon 'back on the pitch' after horrific leg break as he trains in pre-season camp

Hearts hero Craig Gordon has given fans a pre-season boost after he was spotted back training just months after a horrific leg break.

The Jambos legend suffered a devastating injury during a Scottish Premiership clash just before Christmas away to Dundee United. The giant goalkeeper was stretchered off after a nasty collision with Steven Fletcher. Hair raising pictures from the time showed the extent of injury with fans left fearing the worst.

But even after turning 40, Gordon vowed to make a stunning comeback. The club captain jetted off with teammates to a hot-weather summer training camp in Marbella. And promising footage has emerged from the sessions with Hearts sharing a video of the Scotland international with his gloves back on. The remarkable clip shows Gordon taking part in a drill where he kicks a ball as he moves between cones.

The video was posted with the tag line "the next stage of recovery," with Hearts fans lapping up the footage as they back Gordon to be back between the sticks again.

Another photo has shown the crocked Liam Boyce smiling as he takes part in sessions after he sustained an ACL tear last year.

Boss Steven Naismith is putting his players through their paces in the searing heat as the mercury hits 30 degrees in the Costa Del Sol.

The hard work will continue this week as Hearts prepare for their Europa Conference League Qualifiers and the start of the new season. The Jambos will head to Perth to face St Johnstone in the opening fixture.
