Hearts have confirmed they have appealed the red card shown to Peter Haring.
The Jam Tarts midfielder was sent off by match referee David Dickinson on 77 minutes during Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren. Steven Naismith’s side salvaged a late point despite Haring seemingly stopping Buddies star Mark O’Hara break away with a cynical foul.
However the Gorgie club were left perplexed at the officials decision, particularly the fact VAR man Greg Aitken didn’t ask the whistler to have another check at the monitor. A statement through Hearts’ social media channels read: “The club can confirm it has today submitted a wrongful dismissal claim in regard to Peter Haring’s red card against St Mirren.” The 2-2 draw at the SMISA Stadium ensured Hearts remain five points behind third-placed Aberdeen with just three games remaining.
