A heartless fraudster who played a part in duping an elderly lady out of her entire life savings has been jailed. A court was told the 84-year-old victim from Cheshire lost £50,000.
Dean Ckarke who admitted being responsible for stealing £20,000 of the amount, has been sentenced to four years in prison. The 30-year-old, of Waterloo Close, Blackburn, had earlier pleaded guilty to the offence.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the victim was a vulnerable, elderly woman who lived in Warrington. She was contacted by a man, purporting to be from her bank’s fraud department, on Thursday 23 June.
