UPDATE: Police confirmed they had stood down the search for Ronnie on November 11 2022
A heartbroken woman has made a desperate appeal for information as fears grow for her elderly husband who remains missing.
Ronnie Brown, 81, left the family home in Bracken Avenue, Wallsend, at around 7am on Sunday (November 6) and sadly has not been seen since.
CCTV footage from a nearby house picked him up just a few minutes later, and it is believed he returned to the area at around 9am the same day - while his wife, Patricia Brown, says she is extremely concerned.
“This is very out of character for Ronnie and we are worried sick. We fear he may have had some sort of medical episode and urgently needs help,” said Mrs Brown.
"Please, if anyone has seen anyone matching the description of Ronnie, I'd beg you to come forward and tell the police.”
Police are now asking for people in the area to check CCTV and dashcam footage as well as their garden for any sign of Ronnie.
“We have today released CCTV, taken in the early hours of Sunday morning, not long after Ronnie first left his house,” said Superintendent Sam Rennison, of Northumbria Police.
“We hope this CCTV helps people build a clearer picture of what Ronnie looks like, how he moves and what he was last seen wearing.”
Ronnie is described as a white male, 5ft 2ins, and of a medium build. He is believed to be wearing a dark jacket, burgundy jumper and Sketchers trainers. He might be carrying a bag for life.
Anyone with any sightings or information – no matter how small – is asked to contact Northumbria Police via their website or by calling 101 quoting log NP-20221106-0821.
