‘Heartbroken’: Navy sailor jumps into Hawaii waters to save 2 children. Then something goes terribly wrong

Master-at-Arms 1st Class Jeffrey Diaz, a 47-year-old sailor based in Hawaii, sadly died over the weekend. He died after jumping into dangerous, high-surf waters to rescue two children who were struggling.

According to Fox News, Diaz was from Florida. He was working at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) in Barking Sands, Hawaii. This brave sailor didn’t think twice when he saw two children caught in the high surf at Waiapua’a Bay. The Kaua’i Police Department (KPD) said that Diaz jumped right into the dangerous water to bring them to safety.
