Heartbroken daughter 'lost' without Scots mum and will 'miss her everyday' after body found

A heartbroken daughter says she is "lost" without her mum and will "miss her everyday" after a body was pulled from the River Clyde.

Officers searching for Shauna McKenna, from Shettleston in Glasgow, made the tragic discovery near Dalmarnock at around 12.20pm on Wednesday, January 18. The 46-year-old, also known as Shona, was last seen at around 1pm on Wednesday, January 4, and officers had launched a frantic search before the discovery was made.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however, Shona's devastated family have been informed. Following the devastating news tributes have flooded in and her daughter Amber says her heart is broken knowing she will "no longer be here to share more memories" with her and her family.

Posting pictures of the pair on Facebook, Amber said: “Mum, words can’t begin to explain how lost I feel without you. I’ll miss you everyday. It breaks my heart knowing you’ll no longer be here and share more memories with me, dad and Hollie.

“I hope you have found peace and are no longer hurting. I wish you knew how loved you truly are. I love you endlessly, mum.”

Shona's devastated friends were also left shocked and saddened by the news, as they described the mum as a "beautiful woman with an amazing soul" who will be "sorely missed by all who knew her".
