A woman has endured a heartbreaking 13-year delay to get a gravestone for her mother and father next to that of her two sisters, one of whom was murdered and the other who was killed aged three. Mary Bunning, 53, who has lived in Ealing in London since 1997, has been trying to get the gravestone next to that of Christina and Amanda Bunning, who are buried at Wilford Hill Cemetery in West Bridgford.
Christina Bunning was 17 years old when she was murdered in a house in Forest Fields in May 1988. Mark Stoner-Seed was given a life sentence in 1989 after being convicted of murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and arson with intent in connection with the incident.
Christina was killed and another woman was severely burned in the incident. Mary said her sister Amanda was run over at the age of three in The Meadows, and died in August 1971. Mary, her sisters and mother and father had lived in Nottingham at the time of those incidents.
