King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV was barely old enough to understand what a crown meant when he inherited one.
At just three years old, Oyo became the ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom following the death of his father in 1995. His accession made him the world’s youngest reigning monarch, a distinction that would follow him throughout a life spent almost entirely in the public eye.
