Hayden Panettiere died of an accidental overdose. A South Carolina coroner has ruled the actress's death an accident caused by fentanyl and other drugs, and federal agents are investigating whether she obtained a counterfeit pill, possibly from a California source.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office confirmed on Tuesday that Panettiere, 36, died from the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. An autopsy found no signs of trauma, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
