Cincinnati Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst could be back on the field for his team against the New England Patriots on Christmas Eve.
Buy Bengals TicketsHurst told reporters on Wednesday that running routes this week in practice helped him re-gain confidence in the injured calf and that he’s revving up as if he’ll start, per the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith.
Hurst had been a big part of the offense with 400 yards and two touchdowns as a matchup problem for defenses, but hasn’t played since the opening moments of the game against the Chiefs on December 4.
Also good for the Bengals is that second-round rookie Cam Taylor-Britt says he merely has a shoulder stinger and that he’ll play against the Patriots, per Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
That’s a nice development considering CTB left the field last week with what appears to be a serious injury. The defense needs him out there getting reps across from Eli Apple.
In addition to all of that, cornerback Mike Hilton has been practicing this week after missing a game and Trey Hendrickson is on his way back too.
