Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young was fined $25,000 by the NBA for confronting an official and using inappropriate language at the conclusion of the team’s 114–113 loss on Wednesday night against the Nets.
At the end of regulation, Young took a runner at the top of the key as time expired and missed. The Hawks lost the game by a point, and Young was incensed. He believed he was fouled by Nets star Mikal Bridges on a reach in as he went up for the jump shot.

Hawks coach Quin Snyder was unhappy with the non-call as well, coming to the defense of Young who was clearly frustrated.
The Hawks have since lost to the 76ers, falling 125–114 on Friday night. It’s been a tough start to the season for Atlanta, as the team is off to a 9-12 start through 21 games.
Atlanta will look to get back on the right track against the defending champion Nuggets on Monday night in Atlanta.
