A man was attacked in a Meath car park yesterday afternoon by two hatchet-wielding masked men.
The incident happened on the Killegland Road, Ashbourne at around 3pm. The victim, aged in his 30's, was sitting in a parked grey jeep when he was targeted by the pair.
Officers on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page said the two men "began striking" the man and caused "a number of substantial lacerations to his limbs". The men then fled the scene on foot possibly via the field at the rear of Bourne Avenue.

The injured man was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment. His injuries are described as non-life threatening.
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are appealing to anyone witnessed this incident or with camera footage from the scene to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda Station 01 8010600 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111."
