Haryana CM chairs HPPC meeting, approves purchase worth more than Rs 92 crore

CHANDIGARH: The High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) in its meeting held in Chandigarh on Saturday under the chairmanship of the chief minister, approved the purchase of items costing more than Rs 92 crore to be procured by various departments.

Transport minister, Mool Chand Sharma, energy minister Ranjit Singh and minister of state for labour and employment, Anoop Dhanak also remained present in the meeting.

Later interacting with the media after the meeting, Manohar Lal Khattar said that a total of 8 agendas of irrigation, police, transport, HARTRON, and Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited were tabled in the meeting, out of which 5 agendas were approved.

He informed that today about Rs 3 crore has been saved by fixing the rates of these purchases after negotiation with various companies.

The chief minister informed that the proposal to install De-Nox Combustion Modification System has been approved to reduce pollution in the thermal power plant. Besides this, approval has also been given to a proposal for increasing internet connectivity in various Departments, Boards and Corporations in Haryana.

The e-Bhoomi portal project is becoming very successful

Responding to a question regarding the purchases being done through the E-Bhoomi portal, Sh. Manohar Lal said that this portal has been developed for the purchase of land for government projects and is proving to be a successful one.

On this portal, information about the requirement of land for projects is uploaded by the government and farmers and aggregators offer their land. After talking to the landowners, we are buying the land with their consent. So far about 1000 acres of land have been procured through this portal, shared the Chief Minister.

Additional chief secretary, home department, TVSN Prasad, additional chief secretary, finance department, Anurag Rastogi, Chairman, Power Corporations, P.K Das and the Administrative Secretaries of concerned departments also remained present in the meeting.
