Harry Styles was one of the main names at the Brit Awards on Saturday night (February 11), but it wasn't only his number of wins which caused a stir. The singer's producer Kid Harpoon, whose real name is Thomas Hull, has come under fire after a comment he made referencing Maya Jama and Stormzy at London’s O2 Arena.
The annual music awards saw the former One Direction band member pick up four trophies, including Artist of the Year, Best Pop/RnB Act, Song of the Year and the Mastercard Album of the Year for his album Harry's House.
But the 29-year-olds final win of the night for best album became a highly talked-about moment after his producer Kid Harpoon decided to make an 'awkward' joke about the Love Island host and her rapper ex-boyfriend.

After the award was presented to Harry by actor Stanley Tucci, Harpoon, 40, decided to say a few controversial words of his own.
The producer, who was awarded Songwriter of the Year at the ceremony, said: "My wife Jenny has promised me we are going to pretend to be Maya and Stormzy back in the day tonight, turn off the lights..."
It is unclear what Harpoon said after that, as ITV decided to mute the remainder of his speech.
Maya and Stormzy, who were both in attendance in the audience at the time, split in August 2019 after four years together.
The pair both attended the 2023 BRITs, which took place at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Viewers quickly took to Twitter to discuss the awkwardness and unnecessary need for the 'strange' comment.

Fans went wild earlier in the night as whilst picking up his award for Artist of the Year, Harry gave a nod to his One Direction bandmates.
"I want to thank my family for being the most supportive, understanding, patient, loving family I could have ever asked for. I want to thank my mum for signing me up for The X Factor without telling me, so I literally wouldn’t be here without you," he said.
He then added: "I want to thank Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn because I wouldn't be here without you either, thank you so much."
