Singer Harry Styles gets the satisfaction of rocking Mick Jagger’s look in his latest video – wearing a spangly red jumpsuit inspired by the Rolling Stones frontman’s style.
Harry, 28, pored over Mick’s old stage outfits while working with fashion designer Arturo Obegero to come up with his outfit for the video of new single As It Was.
And it’s not the first time Harry has based his look on the legend he once described as the “coolest man on the planet”.
As it Was is busy smashing records with a staggering 43.8m streams, as well as dominating charts around the world, including top spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Not only that, sales of jumpsuits has seen a 212 per cent surge in sales since Harry wore the jumpsuit featured in the video.
Harry has won plaudits from fashionistas everywhere for his androgynous sense of style, which ignores traditional gender norms.
“What women wear. What men wear. For me it’s not a question of that,” he’s previously said.
“If I see a nice shirt and get told, ‘But it’s for ladies.’ I think: ‘Okaaaay? Doesn’t make me want to wear it less though… I think the moment you feel more comfortable with yourself, it all becomes a lot easier.”
As it Was is the first single from the singer’s third solo album, Harry’s House, which will be released on May 20.
Styles released his self-titled debut album in 2017 and his second offering, Fine Line, in 2019.
As part of One Direction, he scored four UK number one singles and four UK number one albums, plus numerous top 10s.
The star is set to headline Coachella in California this weekend.
