Harry Potter fans lose minds as Netflix announces 'best news ever'

Netflix UK has confirmed the complete Harry Potter collection will be dropping on the streaming platform THIS WEEK. The announcement has gone down well with fans who have been quick to brand it the “best news ever”.

There are eight movies in the iconic witchcraft and wizardry franchise and this is the first time have been available to watch on the streaming platform.

The movies are based on the novels by J.K. Rowling and star Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

The first film Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone was released in 2001. The final instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, came out a decade later in 2011.

Now, over 20 years on, the movies are still loved by fans who have been calling on Netflix over the years to add them to its ever growing library.

Reacting to Netflix’s Twitter announcement on Tuesday (May 16), @GamerGirlShauni called it the “best news ever” while many other super fans planned to binge watch all eight movies.

@fourwallets tweeted: “That’s my day off for tomo sorted,” while @tylerpodmore joked, “Fine. I’ll binge watch them all again.”

@ishraq_05 was annoyed at the timing of the Harry Potter Netflix release saying students are going to “fail” their exams over it.

“The fact that they are doing this during exam season just tells you how much they want us to fail because no one is going to stop me from doing a Harry Potter marathon now,” they tweeted.

@wahaab6279 tweeted: “YESS! Harry Potter marathon let’s gooo.”

@ShantiJackson wrote: “I smell a marathon…”

And @Ashleighhhh_B tagged her mate @Dthorngate_ and said “shall we book the rest of the week off?”

The Harry Potter films will drop on Netflix on Wednesday, May 17.
