Harry Kewell comments on Tom Rogic transfer situation as he admits he's 'baffled' by circumstances

Ange Postecoglou and Tom Rogic with the Scottish Premiership trophy

Celtic coach Harry Kewell cannot understand the transfer situation of Tom Rogic.

The former Liverpool player is 'baffled' that the ex-Hoops man has not found a club since leaving the Parkhead side at the end of last season.

The 29-year-old, along with Nir Bitton, decided to move on from Ange Postecoglou's side after a successful final year which saw them contribute to the Parkhead team winning a domestic double.

However, despite departing Glasgow in May, the Socceroos playmaker has yet to join a team and this has shocked Kewell.

"You mention Tom Rogic around Celtic and they all love him," he told Fox.

"He was a player that a lot of his teammates respected. They enjoyed playing with him.

“I’m a little bit baffled to know what’s happening with him."

The ex-Champions League winner also spoke about how Rogic could potentially be doing damage to his World Cup hopes if he remains a free agent.

He continued: "I hope he sorts himself out and I hope he’s ready, because I’m sure he wants to be there (in Qatar for the World Cup). I’m sure he wants to be part of it, but it’s going to be down to him.

"He needs to be right mentally and physically if he wants to be part of this Australian squad.”
