Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson believes Harry Kane would be a perfect signing for the Reds and said he would ‘love to see him’ at the club.
Johnson played for Liverpool between 2009-2015 and made 200 appearances after his £18m move from Portsmouth. Tottenham talisman Kane is coming off the back of another superb season for Antonio Conte’s side. After a slow start, following his failed move to Man City last summer, he has been in inspired form since the start of the year and scored 27 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions across the campaign.
After one Premier League goal in his first 13 league appearances, he scored 16 in his next 24 as Spurs pipped north London rivals Arsenal to the final Champions League spot.

Man City reportedly had four bids rejected for Kane last summer, which included offers worth more than £100m. It would likely take an even higher price to prize him away from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium this year. And Johnson, who also won 54 caps for England, would be in favour of a move but isn’t optimistic of Liverpool being able to sign the current England skipper.
“Personally, I’d love to see him at Liverpool,” he told bettingodds.com . “I think he’d be a great fit for them. We know how Liverpool do their business and I don’t think they’d break the bank for someone of Harry’s age.
"I know he’s not old but Liverpool don’t do that sort of thing [sign ageing players]. I’d be very surprised if the deal came off, but I’d like to see it happen.”
