Harry Kane is reportedly set to turn down an approach from Manchester United in favour of staying at Tottenham.
Spurs are in pole position to earn the final Champions League spot and Kane has managed to forge a formidable partnership with Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski in recent months. The England captain - who has also been linked with a move to Manchester City - has scored 22 goals in all competitions this season.
The Mirror claims the 28-year-old is incoming United boss Erik ten Hag’s top target but missing out on the top four has scuppered any possibility of a transfer. Kane instead wants to get the Tottenham all-time scoring record by the time his contract runs out in two years’ time.

Meanwhile, Spurs teammate Steven Bergwijn is tipped to be Ten Hag’s first United signing instead. The former PSV man has only made four Premier League starts this season and has had to make way for Son, Kulusevski and Lucas Moura instead.
He’s not started a league game since January 23 and could be one of the players Antonio Conte offloads this summer. Ten Hag will be well aware of Bergwijn’s talents having managed against him for a number of years in the Eredivisie.
The Daily Mail (via Teamtalk) now reports that the 52-year-old is considering making an immediate move for the Netherlands international. Ten Hag tried to land the attacker in January but Spurs blocked the approach.
Bergwijn is contracted at Tottenham until 2025 but he could leave for as little as £20m, according to the source. United are capable of matching his wage demands and, if signed, he will be expected to provide competition for Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho.
