Harry Kane is not yet looking beyond the end of this campaign but there is continued hope within the club that he will remain a Tottenham Hotspur player next season, football.london understands.
Last summer was a strained one for the England captain and the north London club, with Kane's desire to move to Manchester City not materialising into a move, combined with confusion over his return to pre-season training. The Premier League champions are not understood to have gone higher than a £75m offer with £25m in add-ons for the prolific striker and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy made it clear that the north London club were not willing to accept that for one of the world's best forwards with then three years left on his contract.
Kane eventually released a statement on social media after the season had begun, saying: "It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I've had in the last few weeks. I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100 per cent focused on helping the team achieve success."
