Harry Kane, Paul Pogba, Mohamed Salah and Romelu Lukaku feature on Sports Rich List for 2022

A number of Premier League superstars feature in the latest Sports Rich List for 2022 compiled by The Sunday Times. The report lists together the richest 20 young sports people in Britain, containing their wealth and how much that has changed in the past year.

Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham co-owner David, tops the list, while sportswear and property owners make up the other spots in the top three. The highest Premier League footballer is Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba in fourth. The Frenchman is said to be worth £77million, up £13million on the previous year.

Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling follow in fifth and sixth. In joint seventh are Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku, both said to be worth £42million.

That figure could have increased for the England captain, had he made an anticipated move to Manchester City last summer. The transfer didn’t go ahead though, as the Tottenham striker stayed at the club and on the same contract.

As for the Belgian, he is a new entry to the list, having made the return to Chelsea from Inter Milan last summer. Despite making the big-money move to Stamford Bridge, Lukaku has struggled to find his goal scoring touch again, though Thomas Tuchel has called upon him to return to form.

"We signed a big player, we still have a big player," Tuchel said earlier this month. "He didn't come on [against Everton] because we had three subs and had to use one for Jorgi [Jorginho] at half time. He trained very well and maybe starts tomorrow."

The remaining footballers on the list are Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Luke Shaw, Alexandre Lacazette, Roberto Firmino, Marcus Rashford, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and finally, Raphael Varane. With a busy summer transfer window ahead, next year’s list could well look very different.
