Harry Kane has already told Erling Haaland the biggest benefit to his Man City transfer

Tottenham striker and former Manchester City target Harry Kane has already whet the appetite for Erling Haaland after sealing his £51million transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Having missed out on signing Kane last summer, Pep Guardiola and figures in the Etihad Stadium boardroom made the decision to turn their attentions to Haaland and promptly got their man. That high-profile switch from Germany has been confirmed as City continue to go about their summer business.

Julian Alvarez preceded that deal in January and City are closing in on England playmaker Kalvin Phillips after they agreed an initial £42m fee with £3m in add-ons. Guardiola will offset that outlay by allowing Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling to sign for Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.

During a wide-ranging interview with Manchester United great Gary Neville on The Overlap last summer, Kane was asked which Premier League player he would most like to feature alongside. He said: "Oh [Kevin] De Bruyne for sure. When I watch De Bruyne play he's a special, special player.

"Some of the balls I see him put in for City are just a striker's dream if I'm honest. He's an outstanding player with the ball, off the ball and pressing, but his delivery is as good as I've ever seen."
