The 2022/23 Premier League season has officially come to an end. Amid much hope coming into the campaign going on how the team finished the previous term under Antonio Conte, the season proved to be one to forget for all at Tottenham Hotspur.
Not only did the team fail to win silverware once again after poor exits in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, Spurs then missed out on Europe altogether after a terrible run of form saw them finish the term in eighth. Many are glad the campaign has drawn to a close and are now hoping it is a summer of change in N17 as Tottenham look to move forward after a frustrating few years.
So who are the winners and losers from Tottenham's 2022/23 season? football.london takes a look below.

Winners
Harry Kane
Kane can count himself incredibly unlucky indeed to have hit 30 league goals and not come away with the Premier League Golden Boot. Erling Haaland's goalscoring heroics may have stopped the player from winning his fourth Golden Boot but the Spurs striker can still be very proud of his tally for the campaign.
It doesn't bear thinking about where Tottenham would be in the Premier League table if it wasn't for Kane as he also played a major role in terms of creating chances for his teammates with his excellent range of passing and general play. Tottenham now need to do everything possible to ensure that the striker remains in N17 beyond the end of his contract in 2024.
Emerson Royal
Struggling to get to grips with his right wing-back role, things came to a head for the Brazilian in Spurs' 4-3 win over Leeds United in November as he was booed when on the ball and then jeered when substituted early. Not a very nice moment for the player to deal with at all and one that could have resulted in an early end to his Spurs career had he not bounced back from it, Emerson went from strength to strength at the beginning of the new year and delivered some outstanding performances as he got on the scoresheet in the games against Man City and West Ham.
The player was a big miss when he was absent in April through injury and his return was certainly most welcomed by all at Tottenham. Proving that he has a future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after having a very good second part of the campaign, the ex-Barcelona man will be hoping to play a big role under the new boss.
Oliver Skipp
Missing virtually all of the second part of the 2021/22 season, injury once again impacted Skipp in the summer after he had made his return during the club's pre-season tour of South Korea. Unable to force his way into the Tottenham side when fit with Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg performing well, a season-ending injury to the former in February saw the England Under-21 star come back into the team and make 15 successive Premier League starts.
Replicating the form that saw him impress at the beginning of the previous season after returning from his Norwich City loan spell, Skipp has more than made his case going into next campaign. The only issue for him now is that he will have Bentancur and Yves Bissouma to contend with after their injury woes this term.
Aston Villa
In Champions League contention for the vast majority of the season, Spurs fell out of the running in the final few weeks following a dreadful run of form. Not only that, their run of results allowed others to nip in ahead of them and Spurs now have to contend with no European football on the calendar in 2023/24.
Aston Villa have profited the most from Spurs' drop in form after pipping the Lilywhites to a Europa Conference League place on the final day of the campaign. Whereas Tottenham's form has been dreadful, Villa have made huge strides under Unai Emery after languishing in the bottom half not so long ago to secure European football for the first time since 2010.
Losers
Daniel Levy
It has not been a good season at all for the Tottenham chairman. Looking very promising last August as Tottenham aimed to build on their Champions League finish, Levy now needs to find a new head coach, managing director of football and also give the squad a huge upgrade this summer. He has a monumental job on his hands.
All this comes when he is now under more pressure than ever as fans have made their feelings perfectly clear about him at every game in recent months. Tottenham's failure to qualify for European football will hurt the club financially, something the chairman needs to put right going forward as it cannot happen again.
Fabio Paratici and his transfer deals
Enjoying so much success with their signings in January 2022, all eyes were on Fabio Paratici to see who he would bring to the club in the summer. Completing seven deals as Fraser Forster, Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perisic, Destiny Udogie, Djed Spence, Bissouma and Richarlison all signed on the dotted line, Tottenham's transfer dealings that were meant to take the team forward just did not work out as initially planned.
Spurs' summer transfer woes are highlighted by the fact that Fraser Forster was their signing of the season and he joined the club on a free transfer to provide cover for Hugo Lloris. Richarlison has had a nightmare first season at Tottenham after only managing three goals following his £60million move from Everton.
Injuries have hampered him at times but he has done nowhere near enough on the pitch when given the chance. The same goes for Bissouma, although he did finish the campaign in good form after returning from injury and playing under Ryan Mason.
Much was also expected of Ivan Perisic going on the big numbers he regularly posted for Inter Milan. A total of 12 assists in 44 Spurs games is good but that number totally masked what has been a disappointing season for the player in the final third. Djed Spence will hopefully get a run of games to show what he can do next season after playing an extremely bit-part role under Conte as the Italian was reluctant to throw him in and give him a chance.
Arnaut Danjuma then got the same treatment as Spence at the turn of the year following his January move from Villarreal. Conte showed no intention of wanting to give the Netherlands international any pitch time and it wasn't until he exited when the attacker started to get more minutes under his belt.
Tottenham need to do so much better in the transfer market this time around.
Dejan Kulusevski
Playing a pivotal role in their run to a Champions League place 12 months ago, Kulusevski just couldn't have a similar impact in 2022/23 as he struggled to find his best form. Impacted by injury as well, it must be remembered that the player is only 23 years of age and bad patches of form are always likely to occur.
It is how a player responds to their setbacks, however, and much more will be expected of the Swede next season providing of course that the club turn his loan deal into a permanent move. Tottenham need Kulusevski on song if they are to rise up the table and challenge for top honours.
Those who could now be set to move on
Big changes need to be made at Tottenham this summer if the Lilywhites are to get back on track and compete towards the top once again. Players will come and go over the next few months, with those who have struggled at times over the campaign maybe not doing enough to stay in north London beyond the end of the summer transfer deadline.
Hugo Lloris, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Clement Lenglet and Perisic are some of those who have question marks over them going into the summer, with the same going for those currently away from the club on loan. All will become clear over the next two months as Tottenham plot ahead for the future.
