A source has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'need to earn' their children, Archie and Lilibet's royal titles.
The death of Queen Elizabeth II saw the children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex move up in the line to the throne. As grandchildren of King Charles, the kids have a right to be known as Prince and Princess - and also have HRH status.
Since ascending to the throne nearly five months ago, King Charles has made no official announcement regarding their titles. During this time, Harry and Meghan have caused some tension within the family with their Netflix docuseries, and Harry's memoir, Spare.

The couple have made several accusations against the Royal Family, including claims that the King lied during the so-called Sandringham Summit. Now, a source has said that these actions have had an affect on the decision regarding titles for Archie and Lilibet, reports the Mirror
The source told Vanity Fair : "The matter of titles is still up in the air.
"The feeling is that the titles need to be earned. The royals need to know that they can trust Harry and Meghan not to keep damaging the reputation of the family."
This news comes as the new monarch allegedly wants the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend his coronation later this year, as Edinburgh Live reported earlier this week.
According to a source, King Charles could be given special assurances that could persuade the couple to attend the ceremony.
This is despite the recent fallout within the Royal Family, following the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare. There has been speculation over whether the couple will attend the coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6.
Meghan and Harry stood down as working royals in 2021. The Duke's memoir was released earlier this month, containing a number of damaging revelations about the Royal Family.
But now, a source from the Mail on Sunday has said that Harry could be offered a "high-profile seating position" for the ceremony, as well as an assurance that he can keep his titles as an "inducement" to attend.
The source said: "Harry's camp made clear that the idea that he would just attend the Coronation and behave himself but then be stripped of his titles was a total non-starter.
"While he might decide at some point to discard his titles of his own volition, he objects to the idea of being forcibly stripped of them.
"He resents being lumped together with Andrew in the public mind as the two 'problem Princes' when he considers the circumstances to be totally different."
