Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, has issued a statement in response to comments made by Serena Williams during the 2024 ESPYs. Williams, while hosting the award show alongside her sister Venus Williams and actress Quinta Brunson, took a jab at Butker, stating, 'Except you, Harrison Butker, we don’t need you.'
In his statement, Butker commended Williams for using her platform to express her beliefs but expressed disappointment that she chose to exclude those with differing views at an event meant to celebrate diverse achievements in sports.
