A music festival billed as the biggest in the North East has unveiled its full plans for summer - with a longer run - while local favourite Andrew Cushin says he can't wait to play his own part in the event, with what is set to be be his third slot on the trot.
The Newcastle talent will be taking to the stage at Hardwick Festival in County Durham for the third year running this summer, in a line-up featuring a mix of indie rock stars, big dance music DJs and emerging names - headlined by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and The Kooks. The festival will be back on its Sedgefield site from August 18-20, a day longer than normal, with acts playing across six festival stages and still leaving plenty room for tents, campervans and glamping.
Other big names on the bill include Hacienda Classical, The Vaccines, Spice Girls' Melanie C, The Smiths' Johnny Marr and Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Club, while fellow locals sharing the spotlight with Cushin will be The Pale White, Liam Fender, Tom A Smith and The Redroom. Cushin said: "It's an absolute pleasure to be returning to Hardwick again this year.

"Three years running is a real statement and to climb up the bill once again is something I'm immensley proud of." This year's festival marks the 10-year anniversary of its debut in 2013.
And it is out to impress with a showcase party. It says there will be a host of food stalls, a BBQ fire pit and themed bars including a cocktail and Pimm’s bar serving refreshments ranging from Champagne to hot chocolate. It also reveals that the children's entertainment will include face-painting, magic shows, ventriloquists, Punch & Judy and workshops.
Discounted tickets are available for children and young people too, including a full weekend ticket for three to 11-year-olds for £35 and the cost for 12 to 17-year-olds attending with adults being £80 - half the price of an adult's £160 ticket - plus booking fees.
