Harbingers of monsoon: Winged guests flock to Gurugram from the south

GURUGRAM: Several species of monsoon migratory birds have arrived in the city for breeding. They travel from the south to north and go back in October when the region starts to get colder, according to birders.

Sightings of watercock, nightjar, Indian pitta, black bitten, pheasant-tailed jacana, blue-tailed bee-eater and paradise flycatcher are now increasingly being reported in Gurugram, as they are searching for muddy pools and swampy areas to build homes for the next couple of months.
