He was likened by journalist Richard to Spiderman after leaping from the dock and escaping from court in Leeds, and Happy Valley fans took issue as they watched the villainous Tommy Lee Royce in the latest episode. In the penultimate episode of the BBC One police drama on Sunday, January 29, Tommy was clean-shaved again and free of his shaggy beard and man bun after having a makeover behind bars as he prepared to stand trial for the murder of Gary Gaggowski.
Tommy, played by James Norton, was in hiding after making his escape on a bike over the moors, and fans complained that the vile psychopath was looking too attractive for their liking. @KRamsey1997 tweeted: "He looks more like a superman than an oik." And they said: "I love this show but have said since day 1 that James Norton is miscast #HappyValley."
@grimbletweets messaged: "Tommy Lee Royce is looking altogether too Hollywood for a jail-breaking psychopath." And @thechloeshow pointed out: "Tommy has got absolutely no business having such a sexy jaw, nose and haircut."

@josie__m94 admitted: "Time to think inappropriate thoughts about Tommy Lee Royce for the next hour." And @bethastin_x asked: "Is it me or is Tommy Lee Royce getting more and more attractive each episode." And @Mrs_AhmedZaman said: "Tommy Lee Royce - I want to punch his stupid, annoyingly attractive and charming face."
@PollyJacksonx made the point: "I love that #HappyValley chose to have a hot villian in @jginorton. So often the 'bad guys' are depicted as disfigured, scarred or generally old/ugly/exaggerated- but this feels so much darker and creepier… he draws you in like a true predator would!"
Fans have been calling for James, 37, to become the next James Bond after winning plaudits for his portrayal of killer Tommy, who was serving time for the abduction of Ann Gallagher and the brutal murder of police officer Kirsten McAskill and more.
@Mrs_AhmedZaman tweeted previously: "I hate Tommy Lee Royce with the fire of a thousand burning suns but James Norton for the next Bond please OMG." And @timofthetown pointed out at the end of the fourth episode (January 22) "@jginorton Nice audition for James Bond there exiting the courtroom."
@sukesbad echoed: "Maybe the court escape was James Norton's audition for James Bond?" And @Homebythesea4 said: "James Norton should be the next James Bond 007."
@_busdevpeep joked: "James Norton is gonna become James Bond and get his head kicked in but Sarah Lancashire in the same year." And @_joeraftery said: "James Norton made a serious case to be James Bond after that final scene."
