Happy Valley star Charlie Murphy was unrecognisable when she appeared on This Morning to promote her new drama, Obsession, which debuts on Netflix this May. The Ann Gallagher actress was sat with her new co-star in the sexy drama, Richard Armitage, as she showed off a blonde, long bob, a change from her Happy Valley dark style.
The pair were interviewed by a very excited Alison Hammond on Thursday, April 6 and the host said she was "hooked" to the erotic thriller which is full of drama and plot twists. "It's all she's talking about for the past 24 hours," Dermot told the two guests as Alison said the show got her "hot under the collar".
Obsession is a modern adaptation of Josephine Hart's novella, Damage, and is about the love triangle and affair between the enigmatic Anna (Murphy) and her fiancée's father, William (Armitage). Soon, William is drawn into an obsessive spiral leading to the question of how long the pair can keep their secret hidden. The series debuts on the streaming service on May 13.

Speaking about her time on Happy Valley and the show's return to the screen earlier this year, Charlie told viewers: "[It was] such a great thing and to come back to it after seven years and we always knew we would. It was such a treat. It was like opening a time capsule seeing everyone on set again. Cameras were rolling and we were told 'you have to stop talking'."
The Yorkshire drama returned for a third installment seven years after the second as young actor Rhys Connah had to grow up so the story could be concluded. If you want to read more about the final show and stay informed of TV and showbiz news, sign up for our newsletter here to meet fellow minds.
