Happy Valley fans had mixed emotions when James Norton shared a snap of himself with co-star Alec Secareanu.
The actor, 37, plays Tommy Lee Royce in the BBC show and posed for a photo with his "BFF", who plays mob boss Darius Knezevic.
In last night's episode Darius helped Tommy escape court in a explosive scene leaving fans in shock.
However, some viewers reckon Tommy's son Ryan may end up killing his father after he appeared to be fishing for information about whether he was armed.
As James shared snaps of the himself and Alec on set, one viewer begged: "Tommy, don't make me feel sorry for you."
In one photo, the pals look studiously at the camera sitting in a van as James, wearing a hoody, sports a cut on his face.
In another snap, the friends are out in the street as they hug each other with the hills of Halifax behind them.
James captioned the pictures: "BFF," followed by a heart.
Fans flocked to the comments section, with many praising the actors for their sterling work on the show.
One said: "Absolutely fantastic...do not want it to end...brilliant acting from everyone xxx."

In the fifth episode of the award-winning show, Darius rocked up to rescue Tommy, who was on the run after fleeing court.
Explaining there had been a change of plan because he was under police surveillance, the gangster said he would take Tommy to a safe house to lie low for five days, give him and Ryan fake passports and then smuggle them to Dover, Brussels and on to Marbella.
Meanwhile, Catherine Cawood, played by Sarah Lancashire, went out looking for Tommy after insisting she is not going to "sit around on my arse watching f***king" telly.
All the signs are building up for a final showdown between Tommy and the police sergeant.
However, some viewers are worried Catherine won't make it to the retirement she has been looking forward to.
Some fans think Catherine's ex Richard Cawood, or even Tommy himself could be responsible for her demise..
One Reddit user wrote: "Does anyone else watch HV and then make up wild theories in your head? I literally over analyse everything looking for clues until at least 2am meaning I’m hugging the coffee machine at work the next day!!"
While another predicted: "So here’s where I’m currently at: I think both Tommy Lee Royce and Catherine will die. I think she may kill herself and take him with her as to Catherine it would be worth it to know he was gone."
