An unlucky drug dealer has been jailed after officers found a stash of cocaine and cannabis in his car, just two minutes from his front door.
Jan Patterson, 45, was pulled over by police near Coldwell Road, Prudhoe, in February 2019, and was found to be in possession of “significant quantities” of the two drugs, as well as more than £500 in cash and drug paraphernalia.
Matters got worse for Patterson when officers discovered yet more cannabis at his home in Priestclose Cottages, Prudhoe, with the dealer later pleading guilty to possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply.

He was jailed for two years and nine months on Friday, November 4, which Northumbria Police said “reaffirms its commitment to tackling drug dealing”.
“We hope that this sends a strong message to anyone engaged in drug dealing that it will not be tolerated,” said Detective Constable Sharon Walton.
“The most vulnerable in society are affected by drugs and protecting them is among our top priorities. Our officers work hard every day to detect and disrupt drug-related criminality, under the banner of Operation Sentinel, and this is the latest success after some outstanding investigative work.”
Det Con Walton said the force gets daily updates and intelligence to crack down on drug crime, and urges anyone with information on such offences to get in touch via the Northumbria Police website.
