Hanuma Vihari finally gets NOC from Andhra Cricket Association to play elsewhere

NEW DELHI: India batter Hanuma Vihari has finally obtained his no objection certificate (NOC) from the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) after a rift with the state body.

Back in March, the ACA issued a show-cause notice to Vihari following his accusation that the governing body had removed him from the captaincy without due ceremony. In response, Vihari had declared his intention not to represent the state again.

In a post on X, Vihari expressed his relief, stating that he had been requesting the NOC for the past two months and finally received it on Monday. A player requires an NOC from his home association to be eligible to play for other states in domestic cricket.

"I have been asking for NOC for two months, mailed them four times. Didn't give my NOC. Now things have turned, they have issued my NOC immediately," he wrote, referring to the massive win for TDP in the state election.

In the NOC, ACA secretary Gopinath Reddy stated, "Andhra Cricket Association has no objection for Hanuma Vihari to represent any other association affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India as a player from the 2024-25 season onwards."

Vihari last played for India in the Test format in 2022, having participated in 16 Test matches.
