S Club 7’s Hannah Spearrit has announced that she will be releasing a memoir this autumn.
The Bring It All Back hitmaker and actress, 42, has vowed to “lift the lid on the truth behind the headlines” in the tell-all book which will be available in hardback, ebook and audiobook from October 5.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the Norfolk-born star told her 101k followers that she was “over the moon” to announce her new project as she shared a clip from behind the scenes of the video shoot for her book cover.
“As one-seventh of an iconic pop band, I have spent most of my life in the limelight. Now, I’m ready to lift the lid on the truth behind the headlines,” she penned in the accompanying caption.
“In this new autobiography, I will open up about my life to reveal all on my personal story and the reality of life behind the mask of fame, the story of S Club 7 and the journey beyond,” she continued.
“Facing the Music will discuss the experiences that defined me, the mistakes that shaped me and the loves that changed my life.”
The release will concide with her band’s reunion tour which she decided to pull out of in May following the death of her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Paul Cattermole.
Cattermole was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6 aged 46.
A coronor ruled that he died from natural causes with his death certificate listing the cause of his death as cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque hemorrhage.
Spearritt shared her devastation over Cattermole’s death, saying at the time in an interview with a tabloid newspaper that she “can’t stop crying”.
News that she had decided to quit the tour was later confirmed by her remaining bandmates Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jo O’Meara and Bradley McIntosh in an online video, who vowed to carry on as a tribute to Cattermole.
Referring to Spearritt’s absence in the clip, Lee said: “You’ve probably already noticed there’s only five of us here today and although Hannah will always be a part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour.
“We wish her all the best for the future. However, the five of us are geared up and ready to crack on. It’s going to be our tribute to Paul.”
