You just need to be doom-scrolling to have seen clips of The People’s Prince, Robert Irwin, shaking his booty on the latest US season of Dancing With The Stars. The Aussie darling just made headlines, taking out the top gong with those dance moves. And maybe, just maybe, he’s set to trade those dancing shoes in for… LOVE SHOES.
I know, I know. The correct trade would be for roses, but “love shoes” really tickled me. Anyway, the rumour was started by E! News, which interviewed Robert after his finale win. They asked him about his dating life before adding, “Speaking of dating and an ABC reality TV show, do you think you can see yourself on another one in the future?”
If you’re not across US TV, The Bachelor and Dancing With The Stars both air on the ABC over there. And the ABC isn’t like our ABC, it’s more like Channel 7 or whatever. Anyway, you get it.
This sounds like non-news, right? But you have to watch the clip, because Old Robsy plays it VERY coy, giggling and nudge-nudge-wink-winking, all “watch this space” and “we’ll see”.
Side note, shut up Witney, we need to encourage the man, not discourage him. (Love you, Witney).
Now, I’m not saying he’s signed any contracts or anything, but he TOTALLY seems like he’s keen if the producers came knocking, no? Frankly, I completely back this potential venture for our Golden Boy. He’s sweet! Wholesome! Hot! It’s still weird to say he’s hot after watching him grow up!!! But he is! He’s total Bachie material.
Recently, Robert spoke to The New York Times about his dating life, and he certainly sounds very single, saying that dating is “challenging to navigate” because “anything you do will be on TikTok the next day”. You know what’s not challenging? Picking a woman to spend the rest of your life with after six weeks of awkward dates with 45 cameras shoved up your nostrils!
