With the Easter Holidays upon us you may have booked a trip away in the next couple of weeks. It’s the ideal time to get a bit of sun before the summer and a chance to spend some quality time with the family.
If you are jetting off this Easter it’s important to be aware of what the hand luggage rules and allowances are with your airline before you go away. This can help you to avoid any extra payments at the airport for excessive baggage and stops your holiday from getting off to a bad start.
We’ve rounded up the latest cabin bag information for Ryanair, easyJet, TUI, BA and Jet2 so you know what you can bring on board for your trip.

Ryanair
All Ryanair passengers can bring one small personal bag, which must fit under the seat in front of you. This must be a maximum of 40cm x 20cm x 25cm.
If you book Priority & 2 Cabin Bags, you can bring a small personal bag with you and a 10kg wheelie bag, measuring 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
Oversized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of €/£69.99 (fee subject to VAT on domestic flights at applicable government rates).
If you are unsure whether your bag is the correct size, check it at the Bag Drop desk before going through security.
easyJet
Passengers can bring one small cabin bag per person for free. It must be no larger than 45cm x 36cm x 20 cm (including any handles or wheels) and needs to fit under the seat in front of you.
If you want to bring a large cabin bag (maximum 56cm x 45cm x 25cm) then you’ll need to book an Up Front or Extra Legroom seat, or book it as an extra.
Your bag can weigh up to 15kg, but easyJet does ask that you’re able to lift and carry it yourself. Bags larger than this or any additional bags will be placed in the hold and incur the airport bag fee of £39.99.
Jet2
Passengers can bring on board one piece of hand luggage free of charge, although it must not exceed 10kg and should be no larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, including any wheels and handles.
If your hand luggage weighs more or is larger than this, it will need to be checked into the aircraft hold, and you may have to pay an additional charge.
You can also bring a small, personal item on board (such as a handbag, laptop bag or airport purchase), as long as it is placed underneath the seat in front of you.
TUI
Passengers on TUI Airways flights can bring on board one piece of hand luggage of up to 10kg for free. It must meet the maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm and you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself.
Things like laptops, handbags and items bought at the airport must fit within your one piece of hand luggage.
British Airways
All passengers with British Airways can bring one piece of hand luggage on board with a maximum size of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm. You can also bring one small item on board such as a laptop or handbag, measuring no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 15cm.
