Strictly Come Dancing viewers were delighted to see Hamza Yassin secure a place in the series finale next weekend.
The wildlife photographer, who lives in Ardnamurchan, stunned viewers on Sunday night taking to the stage in a patriotic kilt to dance the Charleston to Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full of Lead. The 32-year-old has become a fan favourite to take home the Glitterball trophy, and is gaining more fans by the day.
The BBC cameraman has won viewers over by bearing all his emotions on Strictly, as he broke down in tears again on Monday night. While speaking to host Claudia Winkleman, Hamza was overcome with emotions: "It is a whirlwind of a journey.
"Never, ever, ever did I ever think I would be in the final. Week one, I just thought go out there and have fun. Week two is when people get voted off - I was getting ready to hear my name. It has been such a journey. An incredible journey. A phenomenal journey."
Turning to his pro partner, he said: "Jowita, you have been my mast throughout this journey. Showing me where to go, keeping me together, I have had such a wonderful time and I can't thank you enough. I promise you, you are amazing."
Taking to Twitter after the results aired, viewers couldn't hide their delight at Hamza making the finals. One wrote: "Hamza is the only male celebrity left in the @bbcstrictly final. You’ve got this @HamzaYassin3 and #Jowita, no contest. Hope you do that tropical dance with all the lifts again in the final, that was outstanding! #SCD #Strictly "
Another penned: "Congratulations to Ardnamurchan’s finest wildlife cameraman for reaching the Strictly final. Consistent throughout, so well deserved. Good job Hamza. #Strictly #Ardnamurchan @HamzaYassin3 "
"If you have a problem with Hamza showing emotion on #Strictly cop on. This show has given him confidence & brought him out of his shell. People fell in love with his beautiful, genuine & gorgeous soul. He is a legend #Hamza," said a third.
Another fan tweeted: "i wanna give hamza a big hug #Strictly," while a fifth added: "(Hamza is the other winner because he is the best dancer, the nicest man, the highest scoring, and he deserves to be, and that’s that on that. No I will not be taking criticism on this. #Strictly )"
"You have such a beautiful heart #Hamza #StrictlyComeDancing2022 #strictly #strictlyrobots," tweeted a sixth.
Unfortunately, Monday night's results show meant the Strictly journey had come to an end for soap star Will Mellor and professional partner Nancy Xu.
The remaining four couples – East and Coppola, Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez – will take to the dancefloor next week for the final.
Strictly Come Dancing: The Final will air live on Saturday at 7.15pm, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
