Hamilton in Bristol: How to get early access and cheaper tickets when it comes to the Hippodrome

It's official - Hamilton is coming to 'the greatest city in the world' when the Hamilton UK Tour arrives in Bristol in April 2024, for eight weeks. And if you're simply unable to 'wait for it', then we're here to tell you that there is a way to bag early access tickets in a special presale.

The award-winning musical production will be arriving in Bristol from Tuesday, April 30 to Saturday, June 22, 2024. It's not only been given endless nods of approval by former US President Barack Obama, but has won 11 Tony Awards - including Best Musical - seven Olivier Awards, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and even the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.

While general sale for the show's stop in Bristol begins on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 10am, the ATG TheatreCard presale begins a few days earlier - on Friday, May 12. What's more, there's a little known way to get them cheaper, too.

Those who hold an ATG TheatreCard get access to exclusive benefits, such as pre-sales, no transaction fees and even discounts on drinks at the bar. In 2022, ATG reported that members of the ATG TheatreCard scheme had saved more than £700,000 on transaction fees this way, with a total of around 50,000 discounted tickets in total.

For most shows, you could even see booking fees waived, while there are no exchange fees if you wish to swap your tickets to a different day. This could save you a fair bit of money, which you could instead put towards merch or ice cream during the interval.

There are two different types of TheatreCards to choose from - the TheatreCard Classic can be purchased for £35 for the year, with an auto-renewal or a one-time £45 payment if you don't wish for it to automatically roll over. While the TheatreCard Plus will set you back £59 for the year, or £69 for a one-off payment, and this includes ticket protection.

Perks of the TheatreCard include 25 per cent off at the bar, up to 30 minutes before the show starts. You'll also be entered into prize draws and can benefit from 'member-only' events, too.

Hamilton was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also starred as the titular character in its original Broadway cast. It tells the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton through an impressive array of rap and song. Following the Hippodrome's post to its Instagram yesterday, it looks like tickets will be going fast - you do not want to 'throw away your shot' to get one.
