Hamilton fans have launched their anger at the board of directors amid their topsy-turvy Championship play-off semi-final against Alloa threatening relegation to League One - before their team underwent an astonishing comeback mission.
Losing the first leg against The Wasps 1-0, a Conor Sammon goal early doors for Brian Rice's side put them 2-0 ahead in the tie overall. A George Stanger red card provided some hope in a bonkers first 45 minutes in South Lanarkshire but Sammon scoring again from the penalty spot for Alloa let the shackles off an angry Accies crowd who moved past breaking point.
Several punters got out their seats and made their way towards the directors box at New Douglas Park, with chants for the board to be sacked. Owner Colin McGowan is a thorny character within the Hamilton support and supporters have not been shy in showing their discontent for the upper management at John Rankin's side before, but soon mayhem kicked off on the park. Soon after, their team levelled up through Dario Zanatta and Andy Winter efforts before the pair scored again to make it a four goals in a crazy eight-minute period before the break.
Winter then made it a hat-trick to win the day 5-2 and set up a play-off final with Airdrie. Hamilton finished in the bottom half of the Championship under Stuart Taylor last season after relegation from the top flight in 2021. But this term under John Rankin has had them embroiled in a relegation fight, although they did win the SPFL Trust Trophy.
