Hamilton Accies have announced defender Shaun Want has been released from his contract, ending a 15 year spell with the South Lanarkshire club.
The centre-back came through the youth ranks at New Douglas Park and joined as a nine-year-old, going on to make his first team debut in the Scottish Premiership against Hearts at Tynecastle during the 2016/17 season.
He has gone on to make 68 appearances for Accies but he lost his place in the first team last season after a tough spell with injuries and was loaned out to League One Peterhead for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old returned to the club in the summer but has failed to break into new gaffer John Rankin's plan and is now joins Larne in the Northern Ireland Premiership.
A club statement read: "The club can confirm defender Shaun Want, 25, has today been released from his contract in order to pursue a move elsewhere.
"Shaun has been with us since the age of 9 and signed his first youth form six days after his 10th birthday. He turned professional while still 16.
"He is one of over a dozen players to have played for us at every level from U10s through to the first team.
"With 68 appearances for us, and four goals, three of which were scored in two 4-4 draws, he departs with our best wishes for the future."
On Saturday Rankin revealed players would be leaving the club to facilitate moves for new signings, with the gaffer stating he hoped to bring in "two or three" fresh faces before Thursday's transfer deadline.
