Hamilton Accies captain Brian Easton departs as club rebuilds for League One campaign

Hamilton Accies club captain Brian Easton has left after a third spell at New Douglas Park.

The 35-year-old made 233 appearances for the club in total since first arriving in September 2004, with his third spell lasting four years.

Easton has also played for Burnley, Dundee and St Johnstone, winning the 2013-14 Scottish Cup with the Perth side.

In his final season at the club, Easton won the SPFL Trust Trophy, but Accies were relegated that same season to League One.

He told the club's website: "I'd like to say a big thank you to all of the fans here.

"It has been a club that has been really special to me my whole life, and it always will be, but it's time to move on and see out a new challenge elsewhere."

A club spokesperson said: "Eastie has been a tremendous servant to the club and an exemplary club captain.

"He departs with our grateful thanks and all best wishes for the future."
