Hamilton Accies boss Stuart Taylor admits next season will give him and the club a clear run at the Championship and already has an eye on plans for the summer.
Taylor has said since he came in that he's always at least one transfer window ahead of where they are in real-time, but says it's more than that, and that it's important to iron out the little things.
The former Hamilton and Airdrie midfielder says since the day and hour he came into the head coach role, it has been about moulding little things that lead to improvement, to scoring more goals, to keeping more clean sheets.
And Taylor hopes all of that will lead to improvement on and off the pitch.
Ahead of Saturday's Championship visit by Queen of the South, Taylor said: "There have been so many different things since I came in that we've had to achieve - the main one is getting three points.
"But there are certain elements that we want to make sure we concentrate on, whether it be fitness levels when we came in, the identity of playing, getting to that way of keeping clean sheets - there were loads of different things.
"Now we have different targets, but ultimately we always want to deal with the game that is in front of us and go and win that game.
"We go into every single game, we take it one game at a time, and we want to win every game that we go and play in - we've never been any different than that."
Taylor says targets have been identified for next January - having already looked at what he wants to bring in this summer, but that shifts with what Hamilton needs.
He said: "We're looking to next season, from just before January, and we're always two windows ahead, making sure we've got people we're targeting, keeping an eye on players, seeing how they're doing at other clubs, and making sure that we can be in a situation where we can be really appealing for them.
"We're making sure we're in contact with them, they know we're interested in them, we're starting to build bridges and relationships with them, and starting to make them see what we're all about, and what we can do.
"We've been looking to next season for some time now, just like now we're starting to look at January's transfer window as well and see who we can start attracting, who's going to fit into what we're all about, what we're doing and how they're going to improve us and kick us on.
"Every transfer window you can try and improve what we have. January's window was all about having a better balance to the squad because there was a bit of an imbalance when I came in.
"At the end of the season there will be a different outlook to that transfer window, and January will be different again.
"But it's about more than that, it's making sure we stick to the structure and the strategy of what we've got, and making sure that every day can we make us better.
"That's not just what we're doing in the dressing room, it's what we do on the football pitch, in the gym, what we do with the supporters, and in every aspect to make the club better."
